About Gamessoc
Gamessoc is a society at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, and is part of the UUEAS. The Games Society is dedicated to gaming of all forms, and strives to provide equipment and environments for their members to enjoy playing games together. We play board games, card games, tabletop RPGs, wargames, live games, LARP, computer games and video games; chances are that if there's a game you enjoy, we have members who like it, too. Want to know more about us? You should sign up to our forums! It's where we organise all of our events, as well as being where we publish our monthly newsletter Vodka. You can also find us at Socmart at the beginning of each semester. We welcome all new members, from the avid roleplayer to the occasional board gamer, so come along and talk to our committee to find out what we have to offer!
Gamessoc's most common activities include:
- Tabletop RPGs, run on multiple nights both on and off campus by various members.
- Board and Card Games, held weekly on Wednesday evenings, 7pm until 11pm.
- LARP, held weekly on Sundays, from 12pm until well into the evening.
- Wargames, held weekly on Saturday afternoons, from 12pm until 6pm.
- Livegames, held weekly on Saturday evenings, from 7pm until 11pm.
- Mage: Cold War
- Sabbat
- Shades of Norwich: Requiem
- Werewolf: The Apocalypse
- We are also currently playtesting some new Livegames in Sunday afternoon slots:
As well as this, we also enjoy playing video games of some sort, and the society tries to run Computer and Video Games events multiple times each semester. Pubcrawls are another popular - albeit technically not gaming-related - event, with roughly one being organised each month.
